Think Talk Together.
3 out of 5 employees experience mental health issues because of work, we believe this needs to change.
Mates in Mind (and through our partnership brand Think Talk Together) is a leading charity that enables organisations, of any size, to improve their workforces’ mental health. We do this by providing the skills, clarity and confidence to employers on how to raise awareness, improve understanding and address the stigma that surrounds mental health.
Working alongside our partners, sector leaders and growing community of Supporters, our work is delivering effective change across construction, related industries and more widely. We bring insight and expertise that is improving the understanding of mental health across hundreds of workplaces.
Importantly, our approach enables individuals to understand how, when and where they can get support.
Whilst we remain committed to the industry change we aimed for within the construction sector, we will be looking to reach people across new industries, supporting and representing them through our blue ‘hard hats off’ brand, or international organisations through our Think, Talk, Together partnership brand.
Think Talk Together is working closely with our sister organisation, the British Safety Council on ‘Being Well Together’, a new programme to help employers improve the health, safety and wellbeing of their workers.
If your organisation is located outside of the United Kingdom and you would like to find out more about the Think Talk Together brand, please reach out to our team at: Support@matesinmind.org

Are we a training provider?
Mates in Mind is not a training provider. However, we work alongside a number of partner organisations, such as Mental Health First Aid England and the British Safety Council, who support us in delivering our training courses.
Why is mental health an important issue?
Mates in Mind believe mental health, and its improvement across UK workplaces, is an important issue to address and tackle because everyone has mental health.
In the UK 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year (MIND) and within the workplace 3 in 5 employees experience mental health issues because of work (Mental Health at Work 2018 Summary Report). Mental ill-health can affect anyone at any time, and we work to tackle the silence and stigma that so often surrounds the topic so that individuals have the clarity and confidence to now how and where to get support.
We understand that without an understanding and awareness of mental health, it can be difficult to start the conversation. Therefore, Mates in Mind are helping to make sense of available options and support for employers to address mental health within the workplace.
