How to fundraise at home/ remotely
If you were planning to fundraise for Mates in Mind, but can no longer do your fundraising activity due to COVID-19 restrictions, don’t worry! We have some great suggestions for ways to raise awareness and funds for Mates in Mind during this isolation period from the comfort of your own home.
Do you have a spin bike/ rowing machine/ treadmill or other fitness equipment?
Why not set yourself or a group a challenge to complete a certain number of miles in a week? You can set up a giving page and get sponsorships for your challenge in the same way you would an outdoor challenge.
If you don’t have fitness equipment, no problem!
If you are still leaving your house to exercise during the day, you can still complete things like a step-challenge, complete a certain number of miles during a week etc. If you have a skipping rope, you
Or, if you’re not leaving your home but would like to take on a physical challenge, you could:
Take on a daily fitness challenge, getting in steps around your house or flat- and maybe even do a half marathon like this brilliant individual did on his balcony during quarantine!
Are you feeling creative during this isolation?
Why not begin a drawing challenge to raise awareness and support for Mates in Mind? You could auction your art, whatever it may be, and get your friends, family or team involved.
We know that within our Community, teams from across the country have been coming together online to eat and drink together, checking in and overcoming the challenges of staying in touch during this strange period.
Why not make your weekly chinwag a fundraiser event?
You and your team could host a cyber-tea morning, inviting people along to join you for tea and cakes one morning of your week. Team members could each give a small personal donation to attend the event by giving to an online page and it will be a lovely way of checking in.
