Working to support SMEs and sole traders.
The findings of our study showed that the mental health of self-employed construction workers and those working in small firms affected by intense workloads, financial problems, poor work-life balance and pressures on the supply of materials due to worldwide events, which are combining to significantly raise stress and anxiety to severe levels.
However, smaller organisations can struggle to access specialist resources to ensure workers feel supported at work. Therefore, we have developed:
- Our Champions Programme to support the smaller organisations and sole traders within supply chains.
- Two free training courses, in partnership with The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Baton of Hope:
- Suicide Prevention and Post-suicide response resources and videos.
- A new resource Looking out for each other: Practical guidance on suicide for people in construction designed for SMEs and sole traders, in partnership with the BSI, B1M, CIOB, CITB, The Supply Chain Sustainability School, Mace and the City of London Corporation.
