Mates in Mind is a UK charity dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing within the workplace, with a particular focus on sectors with a higher-risk of suicide. Since its launch, the charity has worked with over 1,000 organisations, supporting employers of all sizes to build positive mental health cultures and address the stigma that can prevent people from seeking support. The Role

Day to day you will organise our busy events programme, manage our stock, provide efficient administrative support to the Managing Director, and act as Secretary to the Board of Trustees. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Managing Director of Mates in Mind.

The Candidate

  • A keen interest in mental health and wellbeing at work.
  • Excellent people skills and a collaborative, impactful approach to working closely with colleagues, as well as external partners.
  • Confident, focused ability to manage events, projects, multi-task and thrive in a busy environment.
  • Possess strong financial acumen, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work accurately and with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, take responsibility and work autonomously.
  • Competent in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, intermediate to advanced-level MS Office Excel.
  • Ability to perform administrative and charity governance tasks, including taking meeting minutes.
  • An understanding of the construction industry or previous experience in charity or events would be an advantage.
