How do I apply?
To apply, applicants will simply need to complete a short online application. There are four key questions pertaining to the actual award, and additional supplementary information may be provided electronically as part of the application bid. This supplementary information is limited to a maximum of five A4 pages.

Is there a fee to apply?
Applications for the 2020 Impact Awards scheme are free to enter for Mates in Mind Supporters.
What are the award categories for the 2020 scheme?
- The Large organisation Impact Award
- The SME organisation Impact Award
- The Individual Champion Awards for Large organisations
- The Individual Champion Awards for SME organisations
What are the requirements for an Impact Award?
Applications for the 2020 Impact Awards are currently open to our Supporter base only.
Applicants wishing to enter several sites or business units must complete a separate application for each as appropriate.

Between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2019, the site/business/project unit must not have:
- suffered any work-related fatalities
- been subject to any prohibition or improvement notices been the subject of any convictions in relation to health and safety
- experienced a major injury, and the injury is under investigation by HSE or an LA
- been subject to any legal proceedings relating directly to work-related mental health, including any discrimination towards individuals with mental health problems, for example, under the Equality Act.
When will the application form and guidance notes be available?

How will the applications be marked?
The responsibility is on applicants to convince the panel of independent adjudicators that their application deserves an Impact Award, based on their efforts and commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing, within their own workforce and those across the UK.
Applications are assessed by a panel of independent adjudicators overseen by an independent chair, all of whom are invited by Mates in Mind and who volunteer their time. The adjudicators are all experienced, senior-level professionals from various disciplines related to mental health and wellbeing.
When will shortlist results be announced?
Organisations which have been shortlisted will be announced on the Mates in Mind’s Impact Award 2020 webpage by the week commencing Monday 16 March 2020. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the 2020 International Safety & Mates in Mind Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 29 May 2020. Recipients of the awards will be announced on the night.
Please note that shortlisted applicants may be invited to take part in a short interview with our independent adjudication panel.
When will the award winners be announced?
Winners and highly commended in each category will be announced on Friday 29 May 2020 at the 2020 International Safety & Mates in Mind Awards Gala Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
How are winners and highly commended presented with their certificates?
When the Impact Award winners and highly commended are announced on Friday 29 May 2020 at the International Safety Awards Gala Dinner they will be presented with their official Impact Awards certificate.
Which award winners will be recognised during the Gala Dinner Awards Ceremony?
Both highly commended and winners in each of the Mates in Mind categories (SME’s, Large organisations, Projects and/or Joint Ventures and the Individual Champion Award) will be recognised for the efforts during the ceremony with an official Impact Award certificate.
When will we receive photographs from the Gala Dinner?
All winners who attended the Gala Dinner will be able to access official photographs from the Gala Dinner in the week following the awards. These will be made available to attendees when they email firstname.lastname@example.org to request the official photography of the night,
When should I expect to receive my certificate if I do not attend the Gala Dinner?
Certificates will be posted to UK-based winners during the week commencing Monday 8 June 2020.
